Health hazard! Do not stay here! Had booked 4 nighs in this hotel, got a room which smelled weird, so I decided to air it out during the day. When returning in the afternoon the room still smelt bad, to the extent that my luggage and clothing where smelling. Took a good look around the room and found a lot of mold. Decided that I could not stay in the room, the people working in the reception said that they did not have another room for me and taking into acount the state of the room I could check out and would not be charged for the additional booked night. They week after, however, I was charged for the 3 nights anyway, the manager was very unhelpful. All in all very bed experience.

Room was dark and dingy, also had an unpleasant smell. Very basic regarding amenities. Is just OK and not anywhere you would want to spend anytime in. There is a bar and restaurant in the building. No breakfast. Food in the restaurant is pretty good. Staff are all great

Bedroom is large, bathroom is new with new tiles and fittings and big fluffy towels. Very good value and busy bar with kitchen open till 11pm was not interfering with sleeping 💤

Was there for a funeral tea and it was reasonably priced they kept everybody happy with there hot teas and coffee they were serving and the the laid on a nice spread on every table which was nice and the staff were polite which makes all the difference

Each time I stay at The Great Western Hotel, I have enjoyed the experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is good and affordable. The bar atmosphere has always been friendly, and the staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend a night or two at this place.

There simply is no lower standard possible. Its just filthy and discusting. At least the staff was friendly in the restaurant and at reception. And there not even a possibility to get a coffee or breakfast somewhere near the hotel...

The staffs attitude towards allergens was unacceptable. The food was all overpriced and tasteless. Best part of the meal was the tap water. Staff did not care. Will not be back.

Lovely local bar & restaurant. Food is top drawer and service is always fast & friendly. Our kids are quite fussy eaters but they absolutely love it here. Mac Cheese for the win! Highly recommend a visit.

I have to say I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. My room was clean and cozy, and the attached bath with toilet was also neat and clean. The heating of the room worked well, and the hotel staff was friendly and efficient. The only drawback I noticed was that rooms were not properly sound-proofed.

Poor hotel with very limited car park - 5 spaces Parked on street. Very noisy bar. Room was quiet. Smaller than average and very basic

It was a good place to eat inside the restaurant, but not the service was slow, food was not good, last time to go there

It's had a good update to the decor. Very decent pub grub and good service too. Haven't stayed in the hotel though.
